Who We Are

Olsuswa Energy Limited is a Kenyan company incorporated in 2011. The company was formed with the aim of developing and investing in renewable green energy projects across Africa. Olsuswa’s flagship project is the BVC Geothermal Project near Lake Turkana in northern Kenya. Geothermal energy, known to occur in abundance along the Kenyan Rift Valley, is the most reliable green energy resource because of its higher baseload efficiency.

Olsuswa Energy has a seven-point ethos based on spurring innovation and becoming a regional leader in geothermal sciences. It is this bedrock of values and principles that is driving Olsuswa to develop 140 MWe of new generating capacity at the BVC through a methodical approach involving comprehensive surface studies, exploration drilling and production drilling.

The company’s vision is also driven by findings suggesting that the BVC may have a geothermal potential of up to 600 MWe. Olsuswa acknowledges that its successes to date are the result of having cultivated excellent stakeholder relationships with the project community, the Turkana County Government, the National Government, and financial partners.
